Falls Creek resort review

The Ruined Castle chairlift might be the best named at any ski resort in the world, let alone Australia. This chairlift also leads to some challenging, steep runs at Falls Creek resort, while the lift also provides access to some fun open sections and down the more advanced route of Sun Valley.

Falls Creek has a quantity over length approach to its trails and this modern resort has over 90 different routes split across the difficulties from very basic beginner to pretty challenging advanced. The result is a family friendly resort that has plenty for those just learning to board, while also throwing down enough of a challenge to keep those more experienced happy for a week or so. Those that are advanced should head straight for the Internation t-bar, where the fastest and most challenging blacks at the resort are waiting to be shredded.

Family really is the way to go here though so if you are looking for a heavy party seen it is worth looking elsewhere. Falls Creek really markets itself toward the family group, with ski in ski out accommodation, gentle slopes, kids activities and events, and ski school programs. There is even a small terrain park exclusively for kids to enjoy and learn to ski without the pressure of adults.
